OVH October 2026 Price Change: What Happens to Your Bill
Two OVHcloud changes share a hard cutoff of 1 October 2026: Public Cloud Generation 3 instances unbundle local NVMe and public IPv4 from compute, and listed dedicated Gen 2024/2026 ranges reprice existing customers on the next renewal on or after that date. This is a bill-impact checklist, not a generic OVH ranking. Figures below are copied from OVH's official August 2026 English blogs (euros, ex VAT unless a local OVH site says otherwise). Recheck Manager and the live OVH pages for your subsidiary before you act.

Short answer
If you are on Kimsufi, So You Start, Rise, or a dedicated generation before Gen 2024, OVH's dedicated-server post says those ranges are not in this reprice. If you run Public Cloud B3, C3, or R3, compute stays the same line item, but local storage and public IPv4 become extra lines from 1 October 2026 even during an old Savings Plan. If you run Advance, Game, Scale, or High Grade Gen 2024/2026, the new catalog rate applies on the next renewal on or after 1 October 2026, not as a surprise mid-term bill. Do not guess a single renewal percentage: OVH published model-by-model tables. Stay only after you can map those tables to your invoice. Leave if the renewal math fails or you were already shopping US, managed, or cheaper EU cloud.

Who is affected vs not
OVH did not publish a flat catalog-wide increase. Use this table to stop panicking about products that are out of scope, then open Manager for the products that are in scope. If your product is not listed in the October 2026 posts, do not assume this checklist applies.

September 2026 bill checklist: what OVH actually published
Use this dated checklist against OVH's own posts. The SERP is still mostly those posts; the gap is a stay-or-leave action list with a clear affected/not-affected split.
- + Hard cutoff for both stories is 1 October 2026. Public Cloud Gen 3 unbundling starts that day. Dedicated in-scope ranges apply new rates on the next renewal on or after that day.

Public Cloud B3/C3/R3 unbundling
OVH is not raising the listed compute price on Generation 3 instances. The bill grows because two resources that used to sit inside that price become their own lines. Smaller instances see a higher percentage because local disk is capped at 400 GB and IPv4 is a fixed amount. Amounts are OVH's published ex-VAT euros, based on 730 hours per month.

These rows are copied from OVH's August 2026 blogs so you can sanity-check an invoice. They are not a quote, not USD, and not a promise that your renewal equals the catalog percentage. Dedicated catalog percentages are the new base-config prices from 11 August 2026; OVH says existing Gen 2024/2026 base configs match those new-server prices at renewal, while installed RAM and storage options use a lower existing-customer scale.

Dedicated and Public Cloud action list before 1 Oct 2026
Do this in order. The dedicated reprice is a renewal event, not an automatic 1 October invoice for every running server. Public Cloud unbundling is a 1 October billing-model change. OVH did not publish a single cancellation-window number here, so read your contract in Manager instead of guessing notice days.
- 1 Identify the product In OVH Manager, write down product family, generation, model, datacenter, and whether it is Public Cloud, dedicated, VPS, or something else. Kimsufi, So You Start, Rise, and pre-Gen 2024 dedicated are out of this dedicated reprice. Unlisted products are out of this checklist.
- 2 Find the renewal date For dedicated, record the next renewal and any commitment end date. For Public Cloud, record Savings Plan end date if you have one. Existing dedicated rates hold until that renewal on or after 1 October 2026. Public Cloud unbundling still starts 1 October even mid-commitment.
- 3 Map Public Cloud lines Count local disk GB, Flex vs standard, public IPv4 count (including unattached), Gateway vs per-instance IPs, and whether private networking is already in use. OVH's mitigation path is drop unused IPv4, consider Flex (50 GB local), and put private instances behind one Gateway.
- 4 Compare dedicated against OVH tables Open OVH's dedicated-server blog and match your exact model plus installed RAM and storage options. Use existing-customer option medians only as a hint, then price the real options. There is no honest single renewal %. GAME-1 catalog +100% is not ADVANCE-1 Gen 2024 catalog +28%.
- 5 Check prepaid or commitment tools If you want to stay, ask Manager whether a prepaid term can still lock the current rate before the renewal that applies the new price. OVH says outstanding commitments keep the current price until they end, and prepaid can lock current rates. Availability and cutoffs are a Manager check, not a blog footnote.
- 6 Decide stay, shrink, or leave Stay if the modeled bill still beats the cost of moving. Shrink Public Cloud (Flex, fewer IPv4s, Block Storage) if the extra lines are the problem. Leave if the dedicated renewal or Savings Plan renewal is the wrong product. A migration that finishes after the renewal pays the new rate anyway.
- 7 If you leave, pick the real constraint EU DIY cloud or dedicated-like value: start with Hetzner. North American audience: start with USA VPS city coverage. You do not want to operate Linux: start with managed VPS. Game/video workers: compare AI video VPS only if the job is a worker, not a hosted GPU API. Replacing OVH with a random cheap VPS can fail on region, backups, or management scope.
- 8 Cancel or migrate with proof Read OVH cancellation and data-retention rules for that product. Snapshot, copy, and cut over before the renewal that reprices the dedicated server. Keep the old service until the new box is verified. We are not inventing notice periods. The contract in Manager is the source for when you must cancel to avoid the new term.

Highest % impact
OVH's c3-4 example is +21.9% (33 € to 41 €) because a fixed storage + IPv4 add sits on a small compute line. Model every public IP.
Public Cloud, shrink before Oct
Flex 50 GB + drop unused IPv4
A b3-64 standard example is +14.9%; the Flex counterpart is +2.3% with only 50 GB local. Private instances behind one Gateway avoid about €2/month per extra IPv4 in OVH's examples.

Price the exact SKU at renewal
Catalog base-config moves in OVH's tables range widely (Advance Gen 2024 examples +16% to +36%; GAME-1 +100%). Existing-customer option medians are lower than new-order option medians.

Bill traps to check before 1 Oct 2026
Unbundling is not a compute discount
The VM hourly price stays put. Local NVMe and IPv4 are new lines, so an identical Gen 3 config costs more.
Add storage + IPv4 to today's compute line. Do not wait for a lower compute rate that OVH did not announce.
Old Savings Plans do not cover the new lines
OVH's c3-8 example stays at 44 € compute through June 2027, then adds about 12 € for storage + IPv4 from October 2026, and jumps again at renewal under the new −15% compute-only grid.
Calendar the commitment end. Budget the unbundled lines from 1 Oct 2026 even if compute is locked.
Dedicated reprice is a renewal event
A server that renews in November 2026 keeps the old rate through October. A server that renews on 1 Oct 2026 does not.
Sort services by renewal date. Migrate or prepay against that date, not against the blog headline.
Option medians are not your server
OVH published existing-customer RAM/storage option medians (+20%/+40% RAM, +10%/+15% storage) and much higher new-order option medians. Base-config catalog % varies by model.
Price your installed options from the official tables. Do not average GAME-1 with SCALE-A5.
If the new OVH bill is the wrong product
These are alternatives from the TopVPSList registry, not OVH plans. Use them only after you know your product line, generation, renewal date, and whether you actually need to leave. Hetzner is the first EU DIY check. USA VPS providers are the first check when the audience is North American. Managed VPS is the first check when you do not want to operate the move yourself.

What exact product and generation is this?
The October 2026 posts are narrow. A Kimsufi or pre-Gen 2024 dedicated server is a different decision from GAME-1 or a B3 instance.
When does this service renew?
Dedicated new rates apply on the renewal date on or after 1 October 2026. Acting after that date means you already bought the new term.
How many public IPv4s and how much local NVMe do you actually use?
Those are the new Public Cloud lines. Unused IPs and oversized local disk are the only OVH-documented ways to shrink the unbundling.
If you leave, which constraint actually matters?
EU value, a US city, or someone else running the box lead to different shortlists. Price alone is how people buy the wrong replacement.

How does OVH Public Cloud unbundling work for B3, C3, and R3?+-
Compute stays on the same hourly price. Local storage becomes Local Low Latency at €0.0001458 excl. tax/GB/hour (about €0.11/GB/month). Public IPv4 is about €1.97/month. OVH's identical-config examples rise 1.4% to 21.9%. Older B2/C2/R2 ranges keep local storage included. Block, Object, and File Storage are unchanged.
When do existing OVH dedicated servers get the new price?+-
On the subscription renewal date on or after 1 October 2026. New-order catalog prices already changed on 11 August 2026, and option prices for new orders on 1 July 2026. An outstanding commitment keeps the current rate until it ends. OVH also describes prepaid as a way to lock current rates; check Manager for whether that is still offered.
How much will my OVH bill go up in October 2026?+-
There is no honest single percentage. Public Cloud identical-config examples range from +1.4% to +21.9%. Dedicated catalog rows vary by model (for example ADVANCE-1 Gen 2024 +28%, GAME-1 Gen 2026 +100% in OVH's tables). Existing-customer RAM/storage option medians are lower than new-order option medians. Match your SKU to OVH's tables.
Does my OVH Savings Plan protect me after 1 October 2026?+-
Partly. OVH says the instance price and discount percentage stay guaranteed until the commitment ends. Local storage and IPv4 are not in that guarantee and are billed at full rate from 1 October 2026. At renewal you move to the new grid: 12 months at −15% or 36 months at −30%, compute only.
Should I migrate off OVH before October 2026?+-
Only after you model the actual product. If you are on Kimsufi, So You Start, Rise, or pre-Gen 2024 dedicated, this reprice is not the reason to move.
