Methodology
How TopVPSList evaluates VPS providers by use-case fit, pricing notes, developer friendliness, beginner friendliness, locations, and practical trade-offs.
We care less about hype and more about fit. A good VPS for a developer may not be the best VPS for a beginner. A cheap VPS may be great for testing but risky for a business website. A managed VPS may cost more but save time for non-technical users.
We do not claim to have benchmark-tested every provider unless a page explicitly says so and includes the actual test method and data.
Affiliate relationships do not buy rankings. A provider can be included without an affiliate link, and a provider with an affiliate program can still receive caveats, lower scores, or a lower placement when the fit is weak.

8.0+ means strong fit for at least one major use case, not universal best.
7.0-7.9 means useful with clear trade-offs to verify.
Below 7.0 means niche, budget-dependent, or less beginner-friendly.
What we verify
- Official pricing and plan pages where available.
- Linux, Windows, Docker, managed, backup, and location claims.
- Provider docs, status pages, and product pages before community sources.
- Last verified dates and source-confidence labels for provider facts.
Update cadence
Provider facts
Reviewed when prices, plans, locations, or feature claims materially change.
Scores and rankings
Changed only after editorial review, not automatically because a provider changes a price.
Benchmarks
Excluded unless the page includes the exact test setup, date, data, and limitations.
